This is a beautiful sad, sweet song. The title is Our Town, it's by Iris DeMent from her 1992 Infamous Angel album. It was played in the closing moments of the last episode of the popular CBS TV series Northern Exposure.
It's not often that good shows have good endings, with a good final score. This was pretty much a bulls-eye on all counts.
Hard to believe it's been over 15 years since this show was aired.
